A Need In The Community

CWS understands that there is a need in our community here in North Carolina for a wildlife rehabilitation hospital that works with avian species of all shapes and sizes. CWC sees a void and wants to fill it.

Cabarrus County has a population of 192,103 with only 4 licensed wildlife rehabilitators, none of them are currently taking in native north american birds.

Stanly County has a population of 60,600 with no licensed wildlife rehabilitators.

Mecklenburg County’s population is 919,628 with 31 licensed wildlife rehabilitators, but only one of them working with avian species.

Union County’s population is 218,568 with 11 licensed wildlife rehabilitators, but only one of them working with birds.

Iredell County has a population of 166,675 with 6 wildlife rehabilitators, none of which work with birds.

Our goal is to establish a wildlife center capable of intaking multiple avian species, giving them good quality care and releasing them back into the wild where they belong.
